A diamond is made of crystallized carbon. Since a diamond is in a crystallized form, this is what gives a diamond it's hardness, brilliance, and it's fire.  Colorless diamonds tend to be the most desirable, but naturally colored stones are starting to catch people's eye.

Rubies are actually part of the sapphire family.  Rubies are technically red sapphires, physically and chemically.  Rubies from Burma are the most desirable and the most desirable color for a ruby to be is "pigeon blood red".

Sapphires can range in a variety of colors from red (Ruby) to green (Emerald) to blue and all colors through out the rainbow. Blue sapphires are most desirable when they are "cornflower blue" in color.  Color is the main factor in determining if a sapphire is for you.

Emeralds are also part of the sapphire family.  Emeralds are sapphires that are green in color.  Emeralds from Colombia are considered the finest.  The deeper and richer the color of the stone is, the more desirable that stone is.

This section will include all other stones and types of rings.
